Autumn is a time when our skin is especially healthy. It is time to recover from all the excesses of summer and start taking care of us again.
Autumn brings with it the recovery of the damages that our skin has suffered during the summer. Many times we mistreat the skin with sun exposure without realizing it. We believe that with aftersun everything is fixed but the reality is quite different.
It is also time to start caring for our food again. To recover from the excesses of the summer will not be easy but it is all a matter of returning again to the gym routine (or failing to do any type of sport about 3 days a week) as well as changing our meals to a healthier diet and above all, increase the intake of fruits and water, which will help our skin from the inside.
What are the cares that our skin needs in autumn?
Autumn is a time of moderate temperatures, without the extremes of summer or winter, which allows our skin to not feel as attacked as it happens in the other two seasons. Even so, we must not forget about it, and to overcome these months of post-summer recovery and winter preparation, we must take simple measures that help our skin feel healthy and cared for.
1. Short showers
Prolonging the minutes we spend under the shower due to the relaxing effect they have can damage our skin, which will tend to lose the protective layer that covers it and will look more dehydrated. Short showers with warm water should be the norm.
2. Soap, only for sweat
When a pan has a lot of fat, we rub it with a good scourer and soap to remove it, right? Our skin also has fat, but the amount necessary for its normal functioning, if we attack it daily with soap and rub it intensely, it will also lose its protective fat and begin to break down, dehydrating and appearing more or less extensive eczema. Leave the soap only for the areas where you sweat most (underarms and intimate areas, and do not abuse too much since the skin of these areas can also suffer).
You can also opt for neutral soaps that are totally respectful of the skin barrier.
3. Moisturizer after each shower
Some of the natural fat can be lost with the shower even if it is not very intense, therefore, to replenish it, applying moisturizer while we are still wet is very convenient.
4. Antioxidants inside and out
Vitamin C is the most widespread antioxidant. In the form of blisters for the facial skin, helping to give luminosity and act in depth on the cells fighting the oxidative process, but also through fruits, vegetables and natural juices, which from the inside also provide the skin with beneficial effects. Every morning, vitamin C blister on the skin of the face and a good orange juice to start the day.
5. Photoprotection yes or yes
Although the UVA index has decreased, the sun continues to reach the surface of the Earth and reaches our skin contributing to damage it. Applying photoprotector daily, whatever the time of the year is in the exposed areas, will help keep the skin young and without spots. Our recommendation? Choose a daily wrinkle moisturizer that already contains sun protection factor, so you will have all the care you need in one step and you will never forget to protect yourself from the sun.
6. Depigmenting treatments
Sun time and its intensity begin to decrease, so if you are considering eliminating any possible spots on your skin, it is the right time, there are many months ahead to perform aesthetic procedures safely.
