If you will have an adorable little flower girl and a charming young ring bearer in your wedding, they will certainly become one of the highlights of the ceremony!
If you prepare your little helpers correctly and ensure that they know their roles, they will be more confident and ready to walk down the aisle before you. Here are some tips and information to prepare the youngest members of your bridal party!
Keep in mind that the age of the children is a good indicator of the risk involved. The most common age for a ring bearer or flower girl is 4-10 years old, however it is becoming more and more popular to see even littler ones come down the aisle. By the age of 4, your little helpers can fully understand their role and the direction given to them, and are less likely to have a shy or timid moment.
But if you are all for the entertained chuckles from guests if your youngest bridal party member does not walk down the aisle exactly according to plan, then even toddlers can be an adorable addition to the ceremony!
Tips:
-Have the flower girl and ring bearer attend the rehearsal to become familiar with the site and practice their role.
-At the rehearsal have mock baskets and a mock pillow so that they can practice holding an object while walking down the aisle.
-If the ring bearer is fairly young, it is best to have fake rings tied to the pillow, and have the best man hold the real rings.
-If the ring bearer and flower girl are prone to restlessness, have them sit with their families rather than standing for the wedding.
